The Centre for Research Documentation Policy Studies and Development of Law (LAWCEN) focuses on comprehensive legal research, policy analysis, and documentation. It aims to foster informed decision-making and legislative development, contributing to societal advancement through scholarly research and the dissemination of legal knowledge.

VISION
An internationally- recognized centre undertaking inter-disciplinary research of high quality in the areas of Documentation, Policy studies and Development of Law with a view to contributing to public understanding and the common good.
STRATEGIC AIMS
- To build inter-disciplinary research capacity within the centre in relation to policy, documentation, development of law and other critical areas of national development
- To build and maintain national and international research partnerships of high quality in the areas of public policy, documentation and development of law.
- To attract national and international researchers to build capacity in media and parliamentary oversight.
- To dessiminate skills in policy engagement and impact to researchers across Sierra Leone.
- To build inter-disciplinary research capacity in the areas of human right, crime prevention ands fostering democracy through education.
